Built from personal experience. Designed for yours.
LSCR was not built from a business plan. It was built from a feeling, the feeling of leaving a 30-year career inside one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies and realizing, almost immediately, what was missing.
What follows is the story of what happened next.

The Personal Story & Inspiring 1:1's.
After more than 30 years inside big pharma, leading commercial strategy, Medical Affairs, marketing, operations, and organizational transformation, I left to build my own independent consultancy.
I was experienced. I was capable. I was ready.
What I was not ready for was how quickly the things I had taken for granted inside a large organization simply disappeared the moment I walked out the door.
I started having one-on-one conversations with other experienced executives who had taken the same path. Former pharma and biotech leaders who had built remarkable careers inside leading organizations, and were now navigating independence largely alone.
Each conversation left me sharper, more informed, and more connected than when it began. The energy was unmistakable, unique to peers who had actually sat in the seat.
And then the question arrived. If one conversation with a like-minded consultant left me motivated, inspired, informed, and connected, how powerful could a meeting with many experienced consultants around a table be? That question became the Roundtable.
Community
A trusted network of experienced industry leaders who understand the challenges and opportunities of independent consulting.
Visibility
A platform to showcase expertise and remain visible within the life sciences ecosystem.
Intelligence
Ongoing access to perspectives, trends, and insights shaping biotech and pharma.
Opportunity
Connections, introductions, referrals, and pathways to new business.
Their Intelligence Was Too Valuable to Stay in the Room.
Within the first few months of monthly Roundtable discussions, a pattern became clear. The collective intelligence in the room was extraordinary, and almost none of it was visible to the broader industry.
Senior consultants were spotting trends, naming patterns, and pressure-testing ideas at a level no analyst, journalist, or commentator could match. Because they were inside the work.
If this was the most valuable insight in life sciences consulting, leaving it inside a private monthly meeting was a missed opportunity for the entire industry.
That was where The Brief was born.

Two Sides of the Same Problem.
Inside the Roundtable discussions, something kept surfacing. Every consultant, regardless of their functional expertise, shared the same fundamental challenge: finding clients. Finding the leaders who needed exactly what they had to offer.
So I started having direct conversations with biotech and pharma leaders. And what I heard was the mirror image of the exact same problem.
Leaders said they struggled to find high-quality, experienced consultants at critical inflection points. Not a friend of a friend. Not someone who needed six months to understand the environment. Someone who had already navigated the exact challenge they were now facing, and could contribute from day one.
Two sides of the same problem. Neither knew the other was looking.
LSCR was built to close that gap.
"We struggle to find experienced consultants at the exact moment we need them most."
"We need someone who has already made the call we are now facing, not someone who needs to learn our environment."
"A friend of a friend is not a vetting process. We need a trusted source of qualified, experienced senior pharma executives."
That feedback shaped everything about how LSCR connects leaders to consultants.
Mike Boas
Mike Boas spent more than three decades inside leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including two years in biotech and 30+ years in pharma, leading Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Operations, and large-scale organizational transformation across multiple therapeutic areas in both the US and Global.
Throughout his career, Mike was known for one defining belief: People before Projects. He was a developer of people, a transformer of organizations, and a builder of solutions, someone who measured success by how many people around him grew.
He moved fluidly from strategy to execution, leaned into complexity rather than away from it, and consistently sought to be stretched beyond his comfort zone so he could learn and demonstrate capability across every important area of the business.
When he left AstraZeneca to build his own practice, that same instinct drove him to look outward. What he saw was a significant unmet need in the consulting space that only someone who had lived it could fully understand. LSCR is the answer to what he found.
